Well we are back from Mum’s after 4 days. I gave Cayden the day off school on Friday considering it was the last day anyway of school term and we headed up to Mum’s on Friday morning whilst Darren went off on his golfing weekend. It was great catching up with Mum & Paul, it’s been a while since we actually stayed with them. Saturday was spent scrapbook shopping (had to get my fix in!) and then in the afternoon Mum & I made pasties…..Mmmmm, yum! Sunday we headed down to the Ballarat farmers market and froze our t*ts off. Oh man i haven’t felt that cold in a damn long time! Needless to say we got some bread, some hats and then came home to a nice warm house and cooked up the roast lamb! Darren arrived back after a very succesful weekend of golf and then we came home today in time to pick up Harley from the Vet University.
Harley has been a very sick little (well big really!) pussy cat. The vet think he ate something poisonous Sunday week ago. Monday, he was vomiting and couldn’t keep anything down. I took him to the local vets on Tuesday and they kept him until Thursday and did some blood tests on him. The tests revealed that his liver count was sky high at 2100 (should be between 19 – 100), they weren’t sure what was up so sent us down to the Vet Uni and he had an ultrasound which didn’t show up much more other then he didn’t have cancer! So they kept him in under observation and gave him medicine so that he could eat and not vomit and he is now on antibiotics. We have to take him back next week to do another blood test to check on his liver count which has slowly been coming back down. Another expensive visit for our pussy cat! A photo of Harley and his naked bits!
Darren has this week off, to spend some time with the family whilst Cayden has some holidays. I think they are off to the movies tomorrow and I’m off to get my back massaged back into place. Heaven!
Some photos of the Emma enjoying a bath at Mum’s!
This week we had to make our own clear flower embellishments. So here is my result;
Well it’s Saturday morning and we have lots planned. We are heading over to Richmond to look at a furniture for our new home. The store has ex-display home furniture cheaply, so will be interesting to check that out and see how cheap or expensive it is. I then have a few errands to run and i want to get some paint pots of the colours for the house to see if we really like them…i don’t want to be repainting anytime soon!
I’ve got Janine coming over for a chat and scrap tonight and i hope to scrap tomorrow afternoon whilst Darren is at the footy entertaining clients! I actually scrapped last night too…Cayden’s 5th birthday party, almost ready for his 6th birthday, that’s scary!
So hope you all have a good weekend.
Scrappit Design Team are doing the challenges set out in Elsie’s book. This week we had to do an Inspirational Journal. I used a large matchbox with ATC size and style cards inside. Janine actually gave this to me as a present…I used it Janine!!!
I’ve just uploaded some pages that i did last night and today. I think i found my mojo again… finally! I did two LO’s at a friends place last night and 3 this afternoon…OK they are simple LO’s, but at least i’m scrapping again! I might even attempt some more this evening.
Finally we seem to be moving forward with the house. We signed our tender today and parted with some money and finalised all of our structural changes. So now they will go and draw up our plans for the house and then we sign our contract in three weeks time. Between then and now we have to go to the interior designers and finalize our colours and fittings inside the house. We have a start date of 1st October, so hopefully we can get our land settled by August (as the developer is promising) and they will then move the start date forward. An October start gets us in by June next year. It will have taken 18 mths from start to finish…did i tell you I’m not a patient person?
Last night i sat down and started getting my butt organised! I made a weekly cleaning list and also a yearly detailed cleaning list. I also put down all the meals that we like so i can menu plan the month ahead and then draw up a shopping list for the month. Hopefully this can then help us spend less…less time at the supermarket, less $ and less “what are we having for tea” moments!!!
Yesterday we went to Hopetoun Interiors and looked at some colour choices for the house…so much choice, to hard to choose! We then went down to the display home and checked out our sample tiles and timber floor sample to see what we thought…quite happy with our choice actually. Now…bring on the house!
Today I’m heading down to Target, then the supermarket and then home to do some cleaning and washing…so a very “exciting” day ahead of me!!! I might even pop into Scrappit and see Jan and spend some money!
